Pure Charge N Go ix CROS and BiCROS Hearing Aid Transmitter
CROS and BiCROS Hearing Aids
CROS and BiCROS hearing aids are designed for individuals who can only hear in one ear.
These systems include two components: a standard hearing aid worn on the ear with hearing ability, and a separate microphone—shaped like a hearing aid—placed on the ear which is without hearing ability.
-
CROS (Contralateral Routing of Sound) devices capture sound from the ear with no hearing and transmit it to the better-hearing ear. This solution is ideal for users with normal hearing in one ear.
-
BiCROS (Bilateral Contralateral Routing of Sound) aids work by collecting sound from both ears and amplifying it into the ear with better hearing. This is suited for those who have some degree of hearing loss in their functioning ear as well.
Advantages of CROS and BiCROS Systems
These devices are especially useful in specific situations. For example, they allow users to hear speech and ambient sounds without needing to turn their ‘better’ ear toward the sound source.
They also enhance overall sound awareness in one’s surroundings.
Challenges and Considerations
Despite their benefits, CROS and BiCROS users may still experience difficulty pinpointing the exact location of sounds.

The Signia Pure Charge N Go ix CROS / BiCROS Transmitter is rechargeable and pairs with Pure Charge N Go ix series hearing aids.
